Week 41 - IT"S THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!!

Great Things We Noticed:

  • Strong instruction ALL THE WAY TO THE END!
  • Personal "rocks" in Tavaglione's class to inspire narrative writing!
  • Our Retiree's Ada, Sandy and Joni - giving a combined 66 years of experience!
  • Mrs. Lantz chasing her dream to Blythe, California!
  • 4th grade and Carol OK's recorder performance!
  • The Dairy Council loving our cafeteria set up - Way to go Liz and Team!
  • THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!!

Nuts and Bolts:

  • Beginning Tuesday, May 28th, Hawthorne will have a new Technology Specialist. Jeremy is moving on to another site and our new tech is Rick Mann.  He does not have specific day that he is assigned to our site, he will be here when there are work orders to be taken care of.  Please welcome Rick when you see him and continue to put your repair requests in as needed. If you need assistance submitting a work order, please see Lisa.
  • Please have your lap tops charged and available on WEDNESDAY  - Technology Services will be asking you to bring your laptops up to the copier to set up for printing.... Just in time to print all your Ed Cards to the Konica! Print your student report cards using the  "grey scale" setting for your grade level printer.  Your report cards for cum folders and ed cards can be printed using the Konica.
  • No Recess on Wednesday, 5/29 until the ALL CLEAR is given (please do not disrupt the 6th grade promotion)
  • Wednesday Morning we could use some help monitoring the upper playground... All students will be playing on the primary side due to promotion.  If you can take your class or help with supervision that would be great.

  • As we get to the end of the year and begin the checkout process please keep the following in mind:
    • This can be a stressful time of year, remember to be patient during the checkout process.
    • The office staff have explicit procedures they have to follow, you will not be checked out if everything is not signed off.
    • There are 37 of you and 1 of Paulina and Cindy…. Last year people became impatient while waiting for checkout.  Please be mindful that we are all doing our best to get you out of here in a timely manner.
    • We have offered to cover your classes for 30 minute blocks of time on Thursday to assist you in completing your cum folders.  Sign up in the lounge for a slot of time and we will come to you.
    • Take your checkout tasks in small pieces – a few folders at a time, a few things off the wall at a time, etc., but don’t wait until the last minute to complete all the tasks (unless you are coming back Friday).
    •  Let us know if there is anything we can do to support you through the last five days of school.
