Riverside Unified School District has partnered with Gallup, an independent research and consulting company, to conduct the RUSD Engagement Survey. You will soon receive an email from Gallup inviting you to participate in the online survey. It will be open from October 29 to November 9 and should take only a few minutes to complete.

Gallup will hold your personal responses completely confidential. Under no circumstances will your responses be revealed to anyone at RUSD. After everyone has completed the survey, Gallup will generate reports that summarize the responses for each department/site. To protect your confidentiality, reports will be generated only for groups with at least four employees participating in the survey. No individual responses will be reported.

You will learn the results of the survey later this winter. It is important that you participate in the survey so your voice can be heard. Please watch for another email message from Gallup which will give you instructions on taking the survey.

Thank you

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to all of you.  You have been working hard and I have noticed.  October is busy and is only the beginning of the "Holiday Slide".  I have asked you to step out of your comfort zones, try new things and open the school up to our community.  For some of you, you have stepped into a new student centered assessment process and are beginning the process to rework how you work as teams.  I have noticed teachers trying new organizational strategies and taking these ideas to teammates to share.  I have noticed all of you struggle, productively, with the new math curriculum and work on pacing, differentiation and student centered instruction.  I have seen new team leaders working to effectively use collaboration time and pushing their grade level partners to think critically about data.  You are doing good work, you are consistently working on creating student centered, personalized, engaging classrooms and I see the results.  People come to our school and talk about the climate and culture, they notice the work you do in helping out students become confident and kind members of our community. it is more than just the beauty of our buildings that make Hawthorne a special place.  Thank you for all your work, I am grateful.
