  • Our 5th and 6th grade students participating in the Cluster Band Concert!
  • 19 parents graduation from PIQE!

Nuts and Bolts:

  • ALL TEACHERS:  When entering campus in the morning (especially before 7:45) enter through the front office to ensure the campus has been disarmed and no alarms will be  mistakenly set off.
  • TK-2 teachers please ensure you have signed up on the PD Hub for Wonders Training
  • TK-2 teachers please ensure you practice limited computer usage T, W, TH and F mornings of the coming week

FOCUS:

Testing Reminders:

  • We will be around Monday afternoon to check room environment for testing.
  • Remember to wear your T-shirt to support our students on Tuesday, April 30th.
  • It is important that testing start no later than 9.  We want to maximize the morning time for testing.
  • We should only be testing for a few hours a day.
  • Testing schedule
    • Tuesday - ELA CAT part 1
    • Wednesday - ELA CAT part 2
    • Thursday - Performance Task part 1 (no one should submit PT today)
    • Friday - Performance Task part 2 (this is the essay portion)
  • Keep in mind that if you only have a few students left testing, it may be a good time to stop for the day.  We don’t want students feeling pressure to finish or not take their time.
  • Scratch paper should be turned in daily to Erin in the envelope.  Paper clip those students that are not finished so that they can get their scratch paper back.
  • Please read your DFA’s and be ready for Tuesday.  You need to read these exactly.
  • If you need anything, please let us know.

Happy Earth Day!
Celebrate Earth Day and use all of your Passion Project recyclables by creating ART!  Find the link to lots of ideas HERE

During our PL Training/Planning Day on Friday we looked at some cool digital tools to use with your students!
  • Freckle Math might be a tool that we want to incorporate next year... check it out and let me know!
  • Formative provides the resources to create formative assessment and evaluate in real time.
  • The District is making the program "MyOn" available for students over the summer.  Students and Teachers will have access to a comprehensive online library containing thousands of enhanced digital texts to support teaching and learning.  It also enables teachers to monitor student activity  and well as growth.
    • To Check Out "MyOn" follow these directions for the demo account
      • School Name: Demo Region 9
      • Username: Riversideprincipledemo
      • Password: books
    • Each student will have to be logged in before the end of the school year and practice accessing one book.
    • As soon as I have more information regarding when the site is "live" for RUSD I will let you know.
    • This might be a great opportunity to create a Summer Reading Program that can be attached to incentives for students... let's think of some ideas!
