Nuts and Bolts:

  • TEACHERS:  Please begin the process of organizing and finalizing CUM folders for the end of the year check out process.  Paulina will send out guidance on Monday regarding expectations for cum folders.
  • Going forward we are asking that a teacher is stationed on the far side of the track to monitor student behavior and students are kept away from the far fence during recess - Please be aware of all four corners of the field while out at PE and recess.
  • On May 18, 2019, the first Festival de Mariachi will be held at Ramona High School. Gates will open to the public at 11 am for access to food and other vendors. In the theater, the Festival will feature performances from community groups and Ballet Folklorico from several RUSD schools, including Mariachi Lobos de University Heights, and Mariachi de la Dinastia Ramona. The day will conclude with a performance by the 2-time Grammy Award winning artists Mariachi Divas.
  • Please mark your calendars for May 2, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., for the annual Employee Recognition Ceremony in the Maxine Frost Performing Arts Center at Ramona High School.
  • 04/23/19: If you missed grade level Eureka day 4 Make-up training, please have them sign up for the makeup session in the pdhub.
  • Check out the latest version of the Science Newsletter which has an update of the 6-8th Grade Materials Adoption Update. If you have any questions, please contact Ashley Fulmer (afulmer@rusd.k12.ca.us)
  • DANIELSON UPDATE:  All Teachers are required to complete Danielson Training by the end of the school year.  Final Danielson training cohort will meet on April 23 at NUTRITION SERVICES - Training STARTS at 8:00
  • Just an FYI we are looking to change the grade level lunch times for the 19/20 school year, we will be discussing with Leadership.  Things to consider:
    • We will be moving to a "Play First, Eat Second" schedule for all grade levels
    • We are looking at implementing the following schedule:
      • K/1: 11:00-11:45
      • 2/3:  11:30-12:15
      • 4/5:  12:00-12:45
      • 6: 12:30-1:15

FOCUS:

Happy Earth Day!
Celebrate Earth Day and use all of your Passion Project recyclables by creating ART!  Find the link to lots of ideas HERE

During our PL Training/Planning Day on Friday we looked at some cool digital tools to use with your students!
  • Freckle Math might be a tool that we want to incorporate next year... check it out and let me know!
  • Formative provides the resources to create formative assessment and evaluate in real time.
  • The District is making the program "MyOn" available for students over the summer.  Students and Teachers will have access to a comprehensive online library containing thousands of enhanced digital texts to support teaching and learning.  It also enables teachers to monitor student activity  and well as growth.
    • To Check Out "MyOn" follow these directions for the demo account
      • School Name: Demo Region 9
      • Username: Riversideprincipledemo
      • Password: books
    • Each student will have to be logged in before the end of the school year and practice accessing one book.
    • As soon as I have more information regarding when the site is "live" for RUSD I will let you know.
    • This might be a great opportunity to create a Summer Reading Program that can be attached to incentives for students... let's think of some ideas!
  • Loved the idea of DIALOGUE JOURNALS heard from a teacher at Longfellow... find a good article from the Cult of Pedagogy Here.
