Just an FYI - We will have representatives from the California Department of Education and the California Dairy Council on May 21 in Room E103. This is a Nutritional Services event and they will be looking at the Smarter Lunchroom Movement.

MyON Reading is Here!
All students need to do is sign on to their Clever account and MyON is now an option to choose. This great resource will be available all through the summer. Students will have access to hundreds of books to read through this program.

To get started:

Have students sign into MyON and take the initial placement test. This assessment allows students to choose the type of books that they like to read. Then they will take a short reading assessment. Then they are ready to read!

MyON will suggest books for them to read based on their reading level and interest inventory. Students can read the suggested books or search for other choices. There are also many books that are available in Spanish! Students can read the books on their own or MyON will read and track the print for them. The system will track all of the books they have read and students can see their progress on their dashboard.

Before school is out for the summer, it would be great to have all students complete their placement test and read at least one book so they are familiar with the platform. Once students give it a try, they will be motivated to keep reading all summer long!

Thank You for all of your support! This is a great opportunity for our students to practice their reading and prevent the summer slide.

FOCUS:

The end of the year can be both challenging and exciting. Take this time and try something new or do something that you wish you would have done sooner!
