Week 27

Great Things We Noticed:

  • Read Across America Week!  Thank you for your enthusiasm and participation!
  • Family Dance Night - Thank you PTA for another great event!
  • Kindness Rally

Nuts and Bolts:

  • Lynn Carmen Day will be visiting on Friday - we will send out a schedule this week and are asking that grades levels are highlighting our work with WIN time, SLT/Innovate Ed, HIT, Personalized Learning, Passion Projects, etc.
  • Please complete at least one lesson on the US Census  - Census day is April 1 - lessons can be found at https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/sis.html
  • Grade Level Data Meetings on Tuesday with Janet and Laura - please review all emails/check with your team leader to ensure you are prepared for your time slots.
  • Looking for exciting hands-on, NGSS Aligned lessons to bring science and the environment to life in your classroom? Project WET’s mission promotes awareness of water and empowers community action to solve complex water issues. Teachers will receive Project WET book of lessons, online access, and Project WET certification upon workshop completion. You will be timecarded.

  • Eureka Year 2 PD Information:
    • Teachers must sign up on Sched for an available date. Use this page to view available dates.
    •  If a teacher is on a waitlist, please have them sign up for an alternate date in case their first option does not become available. We have a set number of subs available for each date and the rooms where the PD is going to be held cannot comfortably hold more than the number of spaces available.
    • This training is mandatory for all elementary teachers, even those who are not currently teaching math.
    • Combo teachers (including SDC teachers) should only sign up to attend one day, not one day for each grade level.
    • The budget number for these PD sessions is 03-630-0116-9-1110-1009-1130.
    •  All sessions will begin at 8:15am and end at 3:30pm.
    • Here is a list of the upcoming sessions:
      •  Kindergarten - 3/10
      •  TK - 3/9
  • Responsibility Slide Show for Character Counts

Focus:

On Friday night, during the Family Dance, a car caught on fire across from the entry drive way of the school.  The Fire Department was on scene in a matter of minutes and there were no injuries.  At this time, we have no information regarding who the car belonged to and why or how it caught fire.  Your students who attended the dance will certainly talk about this event, it was scary and startling.  If you have conversations with students, remind them how safe they are at school and that our police and fire are here to help us.  A letter will be going home to parents on Monday.

Angelica will be on campus to speak to students that need it - let Longi and I know if you have any questions.
