Great Things We Noticed:

  • Kindergarten Teachers welcoming their colleagues from Harrison for a visit!
  • Lunch on the Lawn!

Nuts and Bolts:

  • All SST paperwork is due in by the end of February - See Sara with any questions
  • I wanted to offer an opportunity to you to take a summer class designed by Katie Novak.  Dr. Novak is a well respected expert on MTSS and Universal Design for Learning.  Universal Design for learning has three guiding principles for designing standards based instruction instruction:
    • 1.  Provide Multiple Means of Representation
    • 2.  Provide Multiple Means of Action and Expression
    • 3.  Provide Multiple Means of Engagement
    • You can find more about the UDL Guidelines here
    • The course you are taking is an online module and will take  8 weeks to complete.
    • The class runs from 4/27- 6/21.
    • I am offering to pay for the class in full and if you are interested, to pay for the college credits as well (equating to 3 graduate level hours).
    • I have 2 spots remaining
  • Suffering a loss can cause a variety of feelings.  As an employee of RUSD you all have access to the Employee Assistance Program or EAP.  You can find more information about EAP below:

  • Our next set of data meetings will be grade level team meetings - dates and details coming soon
  • Census 2020 - This year the census is EXTRA important for California and our schools - there is a legitimate fear of an under count and loss of representation in Washington.  We will be doing all we can to help our community participate in the census and need you to plan instruction with your students...
    • Instruction: March 2nd-6th will be Census Instruction Week. Help get the word out about the importance of the Census through education. Teachers can find relevant and useful lessons that access all content areas and every grade level at the U.S. Census Bureau’s Statistics in Schools website.
  • Eureka Year 2 PD Information:
    • Teachers must sign up on Sched for an available date. Use this page to view available dates.
    • If a teacher is on a waitlist, please have them sign up for an alternate date in case their first option does not become available.
    • We have a set number of subs available for each date and the rooms where the PD is going to be held cannot comfortably hold more than the number of spaces available.
    • This training is mandatory for all elementary teachers, even those who are not currently teaching math.
